There are always legal and tax costs on top of the purchase price.
There are

  • the legal fees,
  • the buyer often pays the estate agent,
  • and there are government taxes to add on.
  •  If you are taking out a mortgage there will be extra costs - both to the notary and a mortgage arrangement fee.

This little lot will add around 10-12% on top of your purchase price.
They can't be added to your foreign mortgage.

If you get away with less, spend the money on a luxury of your choice-
but you must budget to pay at least this amount.
